Skanktone Guitars HomeThis is a featured page

Skanktone Guitars was, at one time, the largest dealer of vintage fixer-uppers and wallhangers in the West Hill section of a small Vermont town. We sold the best, and junked the rest. But forgot to call Sanford & Sons. These are a few of the remains of what was once a legendary company. We sold to Subway Guitars, Top Shelf, and, Ear Craft, or gave them to Floyd as "guitargits." We also have a jug band, the Skanktone Jug Band.

We bought, foolishly, from just about anybody with a truck load of crap. Live and learn. Today, Skanktone guitars can't even supply L or XL t-shirts, though these are highly sought after, and I should investigate reprinting. They were designed by me and S. Clay Wilson. Our positive feedback rating is 100% on our eBay site, with about 700 comments.

This is pretty much my musicial instrument collection. Sad, I know.
We'd like to thank David Schenkman for kicking us off on the toy instrument collection, and the inspiration to build this site. David's latest thing is his B.U.M. site (Banjo Uke Mogul), collecting banjo ukes (since nobody else wants them). We'd also like to acknowldege Brad Schenkman for his inspirational writing style, always self-effacing, funny, and entertaining...an eBay super-dealer and master dead-pan humorist, may he R.I.P. He had collecting old stuff in the genes.
